Samit Ray Foundation

We believe education is a fundamental human right and essential for the exercise of all human rights. Unfortunately, access to basic education has been a distant dream for thousands of young children, particularly in the margins of society. Evolving from the endeavours of RICE Group, SAMIT RAY FOUNDATION (SRF) was conceived to work towards a common goal of making education accessible for all.

Tracing the origins of Samit Ray Foundation takes us back to the politically tumultuous 80s in Bengal, when youths were disillusioned and did not feature anywhere  in the job radar. It was in this backdrop that Prof. Samit Ray, a true visionary, started Roy’s Institute of Competitive Examinations (RICE) to create more professional opportunities in the arena of government services in West Bengal, through preparatory training for qualifying examinations. What started back in 1985 in a single room in north Kolkata has spread all over the nation today, having created more than 2,00,000 successful professionals in the arena of government services. Prof. Samit Ray was always ahead of his times and at the helm of ushering in a wave of modernization in the field of education. His expertise and vision for the future was backed with a dream to create liberating spaces of enlightenment where bright young minds would no longer perceive education as a burden. This paved the way for Adamas World School, Adamas International School and Adamas University among others, where youths can build a solid foundation for their future.

Adamas University
