Village Development Programme

Samit Ray Foundation regularly undertakes charity and community service outreach programs – especially around local communities.

A Functional Literacy Camp was organized for women staying in the slum areas at Barasat area. A Skill Development Program for rural youth and women at the Sadarpur Village, which is near to the campus of Adamas University, was undertaken. The Foundation, along with the University team has adopted five nearby villages (namely Sadarpur, Mochpole, Belunanpukuria, Katura and Jalsukha) and regular educational. skill development and health camps are organized in these villages. A Farmer’s Meet was recently organized in one of the adopted villages, Jalsukha.

Renovation work has been undertaken at a government primary school in the adopted village of Jalsukha. Clean drinking water facility at the school is being provided, by installing a water filter, repairing the submersible pump and making new pipeline connection. For providing better hygienic facilities, the washrooms and the overhead tank of the school are also being renovated and repaired. The doors and windows of the classrooms are being repaired and re-fitted. Some plastering and electrical work has also been done.
